Attempts have been made in the past to perform condition monitoring of surge arresters using manually collected measurements. Later data was automatically collected and transmitted, and critical operational conditions were performed. Now, a machine learning-based monitoring system with IoT-enabled sensors will enable a fully automated condition monitoring process.
